About CVP Leadership
Central Valley Presbyterian Church adheres to and recognizes a two-office view of church government: Elders and Deacons. We also maintain a threefold function of the eldership (preaching, teaching, and governing). By definition, every elder in our church serves as a shepherd and therefore holds the role and title of pastor. Every elder in our church has the ability to teach from the pulpit and the session (governing body of the church) is composed of elders with equal authority.
In line with scripture, the deacons of CVP serve the church and lead in the practical area of ministry. Like the deacons in the early church, these men have been chosen to serve well and to meet the needs of the church, allowing the elders to minister and shepherd the spiritual needs of the church.
